A Bridge of Friendship and Knowledge

On June 18, a delegation led by Zhao Lingshan, Secretary-General of the Chinese International Language Promotion Foundation, visited the Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages.

The delegation included Ding Yang, Deputy Director of the Policy and Global Network Department as well as the Programs and Grants Department, and Zhou Chunmei, Program Specialist of the Policy and Global Network Department. At the meeting, our university was represented by Natalya Lapteva, Rector of BSUFL and Chairperson of the Board of the Confucius Institute at BSUFL from the Belarusian side, Elena Ignatovich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of BSUFL, Tatyana Demyanenko and Sheng Xuemei, Directors of the Confucius Institute at BSUFL from the Belarusian and Chinese sides respectively, Sergey Oleynik, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, and Maria Filimonova, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work.

The meeting covered the performance and future prospects of the Confucius Institute at BSUFL and the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, as well as ways to enhance the quality of Chinese language specialists training.

On the same day, the Chinese delegation visited the Confucius Institute at BSUFL. Secretary-General Zhao Lishan expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their work in Belarus and urged them to continue their active efforts in promoting the Chinese language and culture.

The visit of these distinguished guests once again confirmed the high level of trust between the parties, serving as an important step toward strengthening Belarusian-Chinese cooperation and fostering further convergence of our cultures through education.
